It started by meeting my friend Daniel for some kind of "breakfast-lunch-fika" at Vurma (the usual ;) ). I met Daniel when I arrived in Stockholm last year, but a few months ago he moved to Munich and I hadn't seen him since then.
Then, in the middle of the afternoon, I headed to Dansen Hus to take 2 classes with the amazing Jennie Widegren from the famous street dance swedish group Bounce.

The first class was a jazz class and the second one a hip-hop class. I loved both classes, but it's during that kind of "guest classes" that I realize that first, I really don't have a good technique, especially for the jazz, and that I'm anyway much better in hip-hop than in jazz. Or at least I have a better feeling in hip-hop than in jazz. I guess the style that suits me best is some kind of "street jazz funk", probably because it's what I'm doing most with Åsa since I started to dance again about one year ago.
Anyway, it was really fun. Most people were REALLY good with great technique and such cool style. When I'm surrounded by that kind of people, I usually feel like crap BUT I also like because it really pushes me to be better. You don't wanna look ridiculous so... And I think it's very inspiring, especially when at the end of the class, the teacher is taking the best dancers of the group and make them perform in front of everyone. And today they were SOOOO good with such a cool attitude ! Loved it !
One last thing that I wanted to comment on is the fact that Jennie, as well as some other teachers I had during guest classes for example and also in New York, are able to reproduce the whole music just with some sounds. Some of them don't even have counts, it's just on the rhythm and accents. I think it's crazy and I admire them so much for that.
I'm truly blessed that I have the opportunity to take such amazing classes here in Stockholm. It's always a nice challenge and lots of fun. And for this I really wanna thank Lena who is sharing those great tips and encouraging me to come each time.
Så, Tack Lena ! :)
